Cheap Energy Club powers through the million users mark

Cheap Energy Club from Moneysavingexpert has gained its millionth user just a year and a day after launching. With its switch and forget easy setup the service has proven to be a winner. Using the energy consumption details of each user the service regularly cross checks the whole market to make sure they are on the very best deal they can be. When it finds a better deal it emails them to let them know it's time to switch.

The service is built on the Allfiled Trust Platform that enables the safe keeping and use of personal information. Allfiled is building out the proposition and is ready to manage pilot projects for brands looking to deliver services in a customer centric way with an emphasis on personalisation and consumer empowerment.

Steve Bennett, founder of Allfiled said "I am delighted that Cheap Energy Club has passed this significant milestone. It proves that personal data powered services are highly effective and points the way for businesses looking for the next marketing revolution."

Your Energy app taps into the potential of Government data

Allfiled have recently been working with other co-founding members of the midata Innovation Lab to produce a concept app for energy users. The idea was to produce a prototype app to explore the potential benefits that could be gained if Government data were made openly available to help consumers. The app focussed on helping energy users, particularly those that are more vulnerable, to find all the assistance and free things they may be eligible for.

The concept team included representatives from Consumer Futures, Ofgem, NPower, Ctrl Shift and the mIL as well as Julian Saunders and Alan Cruden from Allfiled. Please try it for yourself and let us know your thoughts.
