In 2003, Alyson, a young single working mother with teenage children was struck down by a severe brain hemorrhage. It was a medical tragedy that can strike without warning at any time, leaving family to rally in support.

One family member was left to look after all the household administration for Alyson's home and children, trying to make sure life remained as stable as possible for them. allfiled's Founder, Stephen Bennett, was that person.

Commuting to London every day for work he quickly realised he needed a simple and secure online filing system which would give him access to all the important documents, supplier information and expiry dates while away from the paperwork, to make sure nothing important was forgotten.

Thinking it would be easy to find a solution he trawled the internet but found nothing that helped even though almost every family has exactly the same administration for their home, cars, children, hobbies and their pets. He needed a system that would help him manage the ongoing hassle of both families' insurance policies, utility suppliers, Pensions, medical prescriptions and countless other documents for Alyson's children and his own family. In addition his parents needed increasing support as they got older.

Seeing the need for a system that didn't exist, he decided to build it. His aim - to save everyone time, money and to relieve the stress involved with the tedious necessity of home admin.
